Why do we have to root to get cool features?
location: droidfarm.com - date: August 7, 2010
Why is it that rooting is required to access so many cool features? I'm not asking what rooting is, I'm just wondering why so many of these features aren't allowed on stock phones (i.e. speeding up processor, increased customization).

Why do I have to open my tablet to get my Push Notifications?
location: droidradar.com - date: December 9, 2014
I've had my Tab S for almost a week now. I'm sure when I first got it I received "push notifications" even with the cover closed and in sleep mode. Now I do not. I don't get the notifications until I open the cover and the tablet wakes up. I've checked everywhere I have found to check that sync and notifications are on but haven't been successful. I'd hate to do a factory reset after getting everything set up but that's my next option. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
On my Android S4, why do I have a gray box appearing over a couple of photo's?
location: droidradar.com - date: December 30, 2014
Longtime lurker, and now majorly stumped on an issue!
I was taking pictures yesterday of our special needs daughter, and pictures appeared fine.. Went to upload to Facebook This morning, and now there's a grey box either over 50% or 80% of the picture or its cutting her off completely (rest of room shows except her type thing). The odd part is on the preview bar along the bottom they appear fine until you open them.
This only appears on 4 of 7 photo's I took yesterday.. All my other photo's from previous days seem to be fine.. Not saving to SD Card, photo's are being saved to device..
Any way to recover these photo's at all, or am I totally hooped.. Also any way to make sure this doesn't happen more?
Thanks a million to all,

Why Do I Have To Crop My Wallpapers??
location: droidmania.com - date: June 12, 2010
I recently just bought my HTC Evo and already have a question about the wallpapers I choose to use. Why is it that whenever I select a wallpaper to set on my desktop it forces me to crop just a portion of the picture instead of allowing the entire picture to be used on the home screen? I'm making sure that the size of the wallpaper is correct, but despite my attempts, no matter what site I download the wallpaper from it still insists on making me crop just a portion of the pic to use. Anyone know how to help with this? Thanks.
