Quickoffice and SD File Folder
location: droidmania.com - date: August 16, 2010
I am using an incredible droid. I have quickoffice. I just downloaded a PDF file and would like to save it to quick office. When I open quickoffice it says can not find files on sd card. Is there a folder I need to put this file in? I have astro. I am just trying to save my word and pdf documents somewhere to open later for reference.
Just figured out what I needed to do. Make a folder in Astro and that's where I can store my documents.
How do I delete documents from the downloads folder?

Have Nexus 5. I have downloaded a few restaurant menus from Web site's. They are in PDF format. I selected Downloads from the app drawer, looked at them then tried to delete them. I can't find any option to delete. When I select help I get Quickoffice help telling me to press the Trash can Icon. There is no trash can Icon on the screen.

Folder Location for Ringtones?
location: droidradar.com - date: August 26, 2010
With my old blackberry i could just add downloaded ringtones from my PC to a ringtones folder on my SD card. However after switching to my droid it seems that doesn't work the same. I placed some MP3 files into the Ringtones folder on my droid and they still don't show up on my list of ringtones... Am i going to the wrong folder or do i need to press and hold every mp3 and say add to ringtones and notifications?

What folder do I put ringtones in?
location: droidradar.com - date: January 24, 2012
I didnt find this in my forum search, when I connect the Rezound to the PC and set as disk drive, which folder do I put ringtones in on my SD card? I created a "ringtones" folder but it's not showing up when I try to set the tones on the phone.
Also, the files are m4r as that's what my iphone used. Is that file extension causing me not to see them, do I need to convert back to mp3?
One x won't unzip a folder downloaded from dropboxSupport
location: droidmania.com - date: October 17, 2012
I have a zipped folder of .JPEGs in my dropbox.
When I use the dropbox app to download this folder to my one x, the phone can not / will not unzip it to allow me to see the images.
I have tried using winzip, androzip and whatever comes installed on the one x.
It's very frustrating - what am I doing wrong?
Android folder limit accessing Sd card
location: droidradar.com - date: February 12, 2014
Hi There,*I am desperate for advice. I'm using Android 4.2.1 on Galaxy note 10.1. I am travelling and photographing and have 64 folders and 6gbs of pics on a 64*gb*sd card. The last two attempts to transfer images from my camera via USB have all failed with various weirdness, like seeing the pics in folder with Gallery app once, only to have the folder completely diappear on next viewing. I have lost over 800 photos like this and I can' t find anything about a folder limit in android but see lots of similar posts with sd card problems. All fine up until I hit that limit, now my whole image recording process while travelling appears to be unreliable. Please help, anyone? Any and all suggestions on what I can try are most gratefully welcome! Anyone? Is it possible the pics are there but not viewable somehow? How can I try to fix the issue? Anyone? Please?
what folder can I add new ringtones to??
location: droidradar.com - date: June 7, 2013
Regarding Android Jelly Bean version and my Verizon S4 (sch-i545)...
I know that the native folder location for ringtones, alerts, and notifications is at /system/media/audio
But, where can I create a folder on the sdcard (or ext_sdcard) to add my own ringtones?
I've created and moved mp3's into the following folder structures, rebooted and still don't see them when I try to add new ringtones:
None of the 3 above folder structures work. Anyone have an idea or do I have to move mp3 files into the /system location?
can't add custom ringtones via ringtones folder?

Solved - Bizarre bug...it'll let me copy from Google Drive into the ringtones folder, but sound profiles won't see them. If I connect it to my windows XP machine (having problems connecting the N4 and N5 to my Win8 machine.. ), and I manually transfer the files over USB into the ringtones folder, Sound profiles picks it up no problems.. Same with the Notifications. It's almost like android isn't rescanning for new files for some odd reason *boggles*
Got my black 32gb N5 this afternoon(Ottawa, Canada) and love it so far as it's a huge boost over my GNex. Been setting things up and transfered my ringtones folder over but the N5 is failing to see any of them, same goes for the ported over notification sounds...is there a special trick other than just making sure they are in the right folder? Does it no longer recognize mp3's or wav's preferring ogg's instead?

Music files added to 'music' folder are not picked up by Music PlayerSupport
location: droidmania.com - date: March 14, 2012
Hi Android fans,
I just got my Xperia S on Monday, I'm loving it so far but am perplexed by one issue - Music Player is only showing some of the files that I've added to the 'Music' folder.
I've used File Expert to copy the files from my NAS drive via WIFI and have added them to the mnt/sdcard/Music folder but when I go the the My Music tab of Music Player, it only lists 11 of the 19 albums i've added so far.
I'm also confused by the fact that when I start up File Expert and select My Files I get a list with two entries - SD Card or Phone Internal Storage. I've been following the SD Card option to get to mnt/sdcard/Music but if I follow the Phone Internal Storage path I can get to /sdcard/Music which seems to have exactly the same files in it as mnt/sdcard/Music... I guess one is a symlink to the other or somesuch...? (I'm a complete Linux noob, just started playing around with Fedora 16 LXDE a couple of weeks ago...)

add to default music folder
location: droidradar.com - date: July 15, 2013
I just find this ridiculous how difficult this is to figure out. Several all alarm clock apps out there will not let me select music from any folder, only from the default music folder.
How do I add my own music to the default music folder? I found the folder but when I add to it a message displays saying read only. Is there an app that will allow me to add to this folder?
Our is there a good ringtone maker that won't cut the song down to 30 seconds?
I never had this difficulty with my kindle fire. How hard can it be for these developers to understand I want to add music from any folder?
